What if there was one simple step you could take just once daily that would make your pets’ breath fresh like a puppy or kitten in just a few weeks? What if all you needed to do was balance the bacteria in your pets’ mouths and it would put an end to the foul breath?

Recently I read of an extraordinary application of probiotics in oral health. It was developed by Dr. Jeffrey Hillman, D.M.D., Ph.D. It is the result of more than 25 years of research which began at the Harvard-affiliated Forsyth Institute in Boston and continued at the University of Florida. The technology has only recently become available for the general public. It provides what is called Replacement Therapy for preventing dental caries or cavities.

As they relate to oral health, allergies are a well-known cause of bad breath, sometimes from the postnasal drip that streams down the back of your throat during an allergy flare-up, and sometimes from the medications taken to mediate the allergy symptoms.

Bad breath is a big problem. Whether it’s you, someone you love, someone you work with or the person sitting next to you on the train, if you’ve encountered really bad breath, you know what I mean. Bad breath can significantly impact one person’s impression of another. Even if you are well-dressed and well-groomed, bad breath can be a deal breaker – it’s perceived as a sign of a complete lack of self-care.

Many parents and doctors alike are likely to shrug off the idea of children having serious dental issues simply because a child’s teeth look beautiful. While it’s only mandatory in most states that children have a dental exam before they attend school, dentists prefer to see children twice a year starting at age 1.
