The easy availability of over-the-counter tooth whiteners has left many people thinking that OTC equal safe. After several years of use, it’s becoming very clear – whitening teeth with the typical harsh chemical hydrogen peroxide products available on the market can cause your teeth to pit and etch – and make them more susceptible to staining.
It’s a Vicious Cycle

Natural Whitening Color
Like getting a manicure or treating yourself to regular massages, the thrill of freshly whitened teeth can be exciting. Once you catch a glimpse of your newly whitened, brightened smile, you want that to become your permanent smile.
But then you drink some red wine, or you are simply unable to give up your daily 6-shot Americano – despite your valiant efforts to the contrary - and your teeth start to look the way they did just weeks before when you whitened them the first time.
You suck it up, and go buy a different whitener, hoping for longer lasting results.
All the while, each time you whiten, the high doses of harsh, chemical hydrogen peroxide are causing microscopic pits and cracks in your teeth, and generally roughening the surface, and making your teeth much more likely to stain.
Beyond the Stains
After several applications of the harsh, over-the-counter whiteners, not only are your teeth more likely to stain – they’re also getting more and more sensitive.
Nature’s Answer for Gentle Whitening
I don’t know about you, but there are few things I like less than being told not to do something that seems simple and makes me feel good. OK, when the fashion police find me and throw away my favorite colors of nail polish (you know, the ones that are so last season) or tell me that my favorite beat-up black bag needs a replacement, I might indulge. But when it comes to my teeth, I won’t allow anything less than white and bright.
That’s why I’m so happy to have found out that there is a natural product that whitens teeth safely and gently, and that the product is comprised of beneficial bacteria that should already be in my mouth. That’s right – there are probiotics for whitening teeth, and I’m here to tell you – not only do they really work, they really work gently and without causing damage to my gums or tooth sensitivity.
Sound too good to be true? It’s not. The next time you’re considering whitening your teeth, check it out, and let me know what you think.
